Today we reviewed and decided on awarding scholarships to form 1 students. Thanks to generous donations we were able to award scholarships to three girls who will be starting secondary school next week: Scholar Kalekye Kitonga, Mercy Mutisya and Christine Kasyoka Wambua.
In the Kenyan system kids take a test at the end of Standard 8 (8th grade) usually in late November. They have to wait until they receive the results before applying to secondary school so they start school a month later than the students in the upper levels.
