FLOODING DISASTER IN KENYA AND ITS IMPACT IN EDUCATION. TIME TO GIVE AND GIVE BIG.

Schools are closed. Indefinitely. In Kenya.  The country is experiencing heavy rains, windy conditions and flooding, leading to landslides, death and displacement of hundreds of families.   The cause is El Nino rains and cyclone Hidaya.  The Kenya Meteorological Society predicts the rains to continue. The health department has warned of Malaria, cholera, diarrhea and other water borne diseases outbreak.

With schools closed indefinitely, family budgets if any for education will be reallocated to burying the dead, visiting and comforting grieving relatives and more house chores for girl students and mothers. We request for your gift towards school supplies urgently.

One Principal in Kitui County says, ‘ A meal in school will help students report to school and keep them in school to learn. Apart from destruction of classrooms, the heavy rains and floods have washed away crops. There is looming famine.’   We need your generous donation towards classroom construction.

We kindly ask for your tax-deductible gifts to support students to return to school safely, learn with confidence and succeed in life.
